Commercial storage units usually have a capacity of at least 30 kWh.

How are commercial storage systems monitored and controlled?
The Voltfang Energy Management System (EMS) monitors the systems around the clock—including status data down to the cell level, performance checks, and alerts. The EMS automatically optimizes the charging and discharging processes of a commercial storage system and decides when the storage system should be charged, discharged, or when electricity should be fed into the grid in order to achieve the greatest possible cost savings. Peak shaving, PV surplus utilization, charging/load management, dynamic electricity tariffs, and marketing connections are configured centrally in this way. This allows multiple applications to be operated in parallel (multi-use) safely and economically.

The Venma web app is the central management platform for your storage system. It provides a live overview of consumption, generation, charge status, self-sufficiency, and your active use cases such as dynamic electricity prices, multi-use, peak load shaving, or self-consumption optimization. In addition, connected components such as PV systems, heat pumps, or charging points are displayed in an integrated manner. Historical data for any period can be viewed and exported. Voltfang also provides 24/7 monitoring and maintenance of the system via the app, giving you full transparency and control at all times.

No, our storage system also works without a PV system, for example, to utilize dynamic electricity tariffs or as a charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. This way, you stay flexible, regardless of your existing infrastructure.

The optimal size of the storage system depends on your individual electricity consumption profile, peak loads, and any existing or planned PV system. A professional economic analysis by Voltfang calculates the required capacity and performance as well as the payback period.

Voltfang 2 scales in practical increments: 1 rack with 90 kWh usable capacity and 92 kW nominal power, 2 racks with 180 kWh and 92/184 kW. The charging/discharging rate is 0.5 C or 1 C, depending on the design. Voltfang 2 Indoor scales analogously in the same application range up to >1MWh. For requirements in the MWh range, several cabinets or systems are combined – above a certain threshold, Voltfang 2 Plus GS is the appropriate option.

Voltfang 2 (Outdoor) is a turnkey, all-in-one solution for outdoor use: the inverter, AC sub-distribution, and EMS are integrated, and the robust housing and efficient climate control allow operation from −20 to +50 °C. Voltfang 2 Indoor is designed for use in buildings and is suitable for technical rooms, existing properties, and production environments. Both commercial storage systems address typical C&I use cases such as peak shaving, self-consumption optimization, and intelligent control of PV, charging points, and heat pumps.

Our storage system uses powerful, safe, reused electric car batteries. These second-life batteries come from well-known German OEMs and were originally used in electric vehicles or come from overproduction. The technology offers maximum safety and durability and is ideal for a reliable energy supply. Compared to new batteries, up to 1 ton of CO₂, 3 MWh of energy, and 50 kg of resources can be saved per 10 kWh, maximizing efficiency and promoting resource conservation.

The investment depends on capacity, performance, use cases, location/network requirements, and integration costs.
