Implemented use case
At Kerschgens Werkstoffe, the Voltfang battery storage ensures a stable and cost-efficient energy supply—even with fluctuating production demands. At the same time, it optimizes self-consumption of the self-generated electricity and effectively reduces peak loads. The smart energy management system flexibly adapts to the specific requirements.
Aim of the project
Kerschgens Werkstoffe aims to use energy sustainably, reduce costs, and cut CO₂ emissions. After successfully installing the 1.3 MWh Voltfang storage system, an expansion by another 1.8 MWh is planned to further increase energy efficiency and ensure long-term sustainable energy supply. Additionally, the charging infrastructure for electric vehicles is being expanded, and the vehicle fleet is being gradually electrified. The project highlights the importance of innovative partnerships and sustainable storage solutions for an economic and ecological transformation.
Our customized solution
A powerful, modular storage system with a capacity of 1.3 MWh was installed. The battery storage units consist of requalified electric vehicle batteries and are specially tailored to the requirements of Kerschgens Werkstoffe. The system has a capacity of up to 736 kW to effectively reduce peak loads and optimally increase self-consumption.
