Implemented use cases

Voltfang optimizes the self-consumption of the PV system in the store so that the electricity requirements for cooling and lighting systems as well as the charging points in the parking lot are covered by self-produced electricity. This not only lowers operating costs, but also reduces dependence on external electricity and makes a significant contribution to the company’s sustainability.

Aim of the project

The supermarket chain ALDI is increasingly relying on green electricity in its stores and has also installed a PV system here. The aim of reducing the feed-in to the grid and improving the energy efficiency of the store was to be achieved with a battery storage system. The PV system is optimized by a Voltfang battery storage system with an integrated energy management system. From now on, this approach will also be implemented in other stores with Voltfang.

Our customized solution

Voltfang has installed a customized solution at the ALDI Nord store in Gütersloh. The battery storage system incorporates an energy management system that controls the store’s electricity generation and consumption by optimizing its own PV consumption. The battery storage system has a capacity of 58 kWh and an output of up to 50 kW.
