A large-scale battery storage system is a stationary storage system in the megawatt range that draws electricity from the grid or from wind and solar farms and releases it back into the grid as needed. It stabilizes the grid, absorbs excess power, and generates revenue on the electricity and balancing energy markets. Voltfang implements large-scale battery storage systems starting at 2.5 MW and 5.3 MWh.

Primarily through balancing power, electricity trading on the day-ahead and intraday markets, and system-support operations. Voltfang’s energy management system combines these revenue streams and continuously prioritizes them based on revenue.

At Voltfang, we handle the building permit application and grid connection registration on your behalf, including the technical documentation. With many providers, this task falls to the customer.

The duration depends primarily on the grid connection and permitting. Because Voltfang is responsible for both of these itself and centrally manages all trades, the coordination process between the parties involved is streamlined. We will determine the specific timeline after the site inspection.

Voltfang will handle technical operations management: 24/7 monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting by our own service engineers throughout the entire project term.
