Benefits for Autenrieth
Implemented use case
Autenrieth uses a large PV system to cover part of its own energy requirements. During peak times, the grid load used to rise sharply—resulting in high fees and the risk of bottlenecks. The Voltfang battery storage system now buffers these loads: it absorbs peaks of up to 105 kW and provides energy exactly when it is needed. This keeps production stable and allows maximum use of solar power.
Aim of the project
The company wanted to make its plastics production more economical and climate-friendly. In addition to reducing energy costs, the main focus was on protecting against grid overloads—without expensive and time-consuming grid expansion. At the same time, the PV system’s self-consumption rate was to be increased in order to reduce CO₂ emissions and make the site sustainable.
Our customized solution
With a 180 kWh Voltfang battery storage system (184 kW) with intelligent control, peak loads at Autenrieth are capped and solar power is used optimally. This enables the company to reduce its energy costs, increase production reliability, and improve its carbon footprint in the long term.
