Benefits for JET
Implemented use case
The battery storage serves as a power buffer for an HPC charging station to enable ultra-fast charging despite a limited grid connection. This solution is particularly relevant for petrol station locations or other charging hubs where the power grid is not sufficiently dimensioned and grid expansion would be costly or time-consuming.
Aim of the project
JET wanted to make its Hamburg filling station location fit for electromobility and provide 300 kW charging power – without having to expand the existing 80 kW grid connection. The aim was to avoid grid congestion, reduce costs and approval times and at the same time pave the way for climate-friendly mobility hubs.
Our customized solution
The Voltfang second-life storage system installed has a capacity of 90 kWh and an output of 45 kW. It reliably stores the PV electricity generated and provides this flexibly for the packaging machines and charging infrastructure at the site.
